Courtyard by Marriott Providence Downtown

I stayed here for a conference at the Rhode Island Convention Center, which is just a block away. I also stayed here last year, and the experience was nominally better, mainly because (hopefully my Gold status with Marriott Bonvoy had something to do with it) I was given a room on the 6th floor in an even-numbered room, and last year I was given a room on the 2nd floor in one of the noisy odd-numbered rooms which face a busy street. The staff were also friendlier and more polite than last year. It was disappointing that there were no working electrical outlets near the bed, so I had to use an extension cord to connect my CPAP, and had to charge my iPhone on the table. Although the hotel is under going renovations we still had an excellent stay. The rooms were large and rather comfortable. The room we stayed in was really clean. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and by ensuring we were comfortable. The hotel had a very serviceable gym with treadmills, elliptical equipment, a few machines and free weights. The hotel was centrally located in downtown Providence. We were mostly able to walk to most of our chosen destinations.

Positive: The bed Negative: Yes, fix the heaters in your rooms buy more luggage carts for your gas. You have 278 rooms and only two carts for those guests when we were there it was fully occupied and we had to wait an extra two hours for a cart at the late, our trip two hours.

Bed is firm, pullout couch used was like sleeping on a rock and very uncomfortable. Needed a maintenance person to cut something to even let the bed out. Remote would not turn tv on. Room was clean and shower was good. Starbucks was not open when there. Was there for a cheer competition at the convention center. There were renovations, but these did not impact stay. Was not really a fan though. Will try somewhere else next time. Surprised by the high Google score considering how difficult i found it to sleep.

The staff were great. As soon as we checked in they were very courteous and gave us great advice for the area. Gave us a late check-out because of my daughter's cheerleader schedule. Room looked brand new. Very clean. We will book this property again.
