Courtyard by Marriott Princeton

This seemed like nearly a 4 1/2 star Hotel, with an indoor pool, classy decor and modern atmosphere. This is my opinion based solely on what I saw from the lobby, when I was trying to check-in. Their room rates were competitive and reasonable for the Princeton area. So no complaints there. However, booking a reservation wasn't as user friendly as it could have been. I'm currently trying to get my money back from a recent (attempted) reservation from the end of last month. I called the Hotel directly to book our room via a link that was sent to me, because I was informed that they no longer take reservations by phone. The desk Rep sent me the link. It was super difficult, and NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL. It had me revolving through the various prompts, mostly surrounding my credit card info

The room was good. Not all the elevators were working. My second night there, all the ice machines were out of ice. And I checked multiple floors. Third day the fire alarms went off at 4 am. Turned out to be false alarm though. Front desk guy told us they serve breakfast and dinner but didnt specify it is not complimentary but is a separate charge. Overall my stay was good. The heat and TV worked well in the room. Although there was no microwave in the room. There was a small microwave located down at the front desk, but it wasn't very convenient. A good place to stay because it was located close to where I needed to go.

Rooms match to the description on the web site of the hotel’s 3*ranking. For about $200/night it provides all necessary minimum as many towers, toiletries, hair dryer, TV, little refrigerator. The facility downstairs advertised as Starbucks can make a fancy coffee of your choice if tea/coffee in the room is not enough. |There are many separate sitting areas in the lobby and also sort of fireplace on the patio. It gives you some privacy if travel with friends and want still to hang out in the evening with a drink and snacks. There is a little shop next to the reception. |Parking is spacious. |The night was quiet.|We had an opportunity to meet 5(!) Front Desk Agents, each of them was nice and friendly. |I wish there is a full breakfast option, that’s why my rating is 4.5, but I assume it is

Positive: The room was actually nice but there was no peace. It was hard to relax with the kids running up and down the hallways until 4 in morning. Staff never even bothered to manage that situation. Negative: The deplorable poorly trained customer service staff. The attitudes, negativity, and very low standards made this place seem like a poorly managed 1 star motel.

The staff was very kind during my stay with my dog over Christmas. From the late-night check-in on the 23rd making sure I had everything I needed to lending me scissors and tape to wrap last minute presents, to just friendly conversation, it was a great experience. The hotel looked recently renovated and everything was clean and nice. The lobby was decorated beautifully.
