Courtyard by Marriott Palo Alto Los Altos

Nice hotel. Wonderful management from 1st level up to the general manager. Front desk staff are cheerful, professional, polite, helpful and welcoming. The maintenance staff are also cheerful and helpful. Housekeeping is good. Just a well run hotel led and staffed by people who care and put "hospitable" back into hospitality.

My family and I had a fabulous stay the night of the Stanford/Cal game! I checked in at 2PM and the room was ready early which was a very pleasant surprise. We stayed in a family suite on the ground level that was one of the most spacious hotel rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The dining table and wine fridge were just two of the amenities in the room I appreciated during my stay. Later in the evening, my dad and I got to redeem our beverage vouchers at the bar. There I spotted several hotel guests enjoying the complimentary popcorn provided by the hotel. When we would stay here in my youth, I always felt that this was a special touch especially for families. In the morning, we had breakfast in the lobby and our check out was very smooth. **Courtyard by Marriott** is a great place to stay — clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The rooms are spotless and nicely set up. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but the quality makes up for it. They offer free evening snacks for all guests, which is a nice touch. The restaurant and bar on the first floor make it convenient to dine in without having to step out. I really enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here — especially the salmon and chicken tikka, which are excellent options for Indian guests. The staff are very friendly and proactive, always checking if guests need any help. There’s also a gym available, even though I didn’t use it myself. My only suggestion would be to fix the Wi-Fi connectivity — it tends to disconnect every 30–60 minutes before reconnecting automatically

We chose Courtyard Marriott Palo Alto/Los Altos specifically for its proximity to Stanford and its apparent emphasis on quiet hours (9pm–8am signage everywhere). The first two nights? Great. Calm. Respectful. Seemed like the hotel catered to student athletes and families who actually value sleep. Then came Night Three. Between 1:00am and 3:30am, the fire alarm went off five separate times. Not once. Not twice. Five. 1:00. 2:00. 2:30. 3:15. 3:30. Each time, the full, piercing, heart-stopping alarm system jolted us awake. My kids were terrified. After the third round, it stops being an inconvenience and starts feeling like psychological warfare. When I asked the front desk what was happening, I was told “a guest was smoking.” I’ll let you decide how plausible it is that one rogue cigarett
