Courtyard by Marriott Fishkill

The location is perfect, essentially on interstate 84. We were greeted warmly by Tyler who I am told is the manager. I’m not sure if this is standard practice or because of our Marriott status, but we are given two bottles of soda on arrival. He was friendly and informative. The property is a bit dated especially the rooms. Nothing is missing. Everything just looks kind of tired. I’ve been to other courtyards recently, where the color scheme and furniture were more up-to-date. It was however quite uncomfortable. The right structure is a bit mysterious, and without knowing it, breakfast was included with our room. The bistro was understaffed, and I have to admit the person was trying their best. Starting off with a positive note, the hotel in general was nicely presentable and the large bed was firm yet soft on the top and comfortable. It helped both of us to sleep well, which is a problem for each of us at our home. The room seemed a bit cramped and small. But the room has a nice springtime view from the window.|The desk clerks and the Bistro attendants were friendly and helpful. I was sitting at the desk at which the extra large flat screen TV set on the second day we were there when I noticed a dullness on the base and desktop. I touched it with my finger and drew back a finger full of dust. Suddenly my positive opinion changed to "ick!" It looked like it had days' worth of dust on it. Had an amazing stay at Courtyard by Marriott Fishkill! Tyler at the front desk was super attentive, pleasant, and welcoming from the start. He had great recommendations for restaurants and gyms in the area, which was really helpful. I was also pleasantly surprised to be added to the complimentary breakfast without even asking — such a nice touch! Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely stay here again.

The people who checked us in were very helpful and kind. The hotel was conveniently located near lots of amenities and main roads. Easy to access. The room was incredibly clean and the pool and whirlpool were an excellent addition to our stay. The toilet ran a little bit after flushing but we didnt mind one bit as it was quiet after we closed the bathroom door. The built in breakfast bistro thing was excellent right before we were checking out. We got two little fresh yogurts with fruit and they were delicious. The woman behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. Overall, it was an excellent stay.

Tyler was awesome!! Super friendly and helpful. You can tell he is well trained and adapt to providing top quality service. Very welcoming as well - which was nice for my late night arrival. Now, this hotel is a bit dated and worn. In the handful of times I have stayed here, I have never had a bad experience. However, the rooms are hit and miss. Some are nicer and cleaner, others are just a bit worn out. I find the hotel clean enough, but not spectacular. Hallway lighting is creepy at times when no one is around. It does appear they are making updates, and it can't come soon enough. For the price tho, its hard to argue you against.
