Country Meadow Inn

We had to stay there for a few months getting ready to move out of state. No sense in getting a new lease for it. The owner was fine personality wise. Had us pay a deposit which fine. The shower for starters, has wall tiles for the floor. Which makes it slippery. My husband and I nearly fell many times. He would also come in while we were gone, occasionally. He tells you when you check in that he will be by between 11 and 1 to see if you need anything. Which he did, sometimes before 11, sometimes after 1. Sometimes not at all. While we were there, once a week, most weeks, he would have whoever it was in the room at the time to step out so he can clean. If you aren't around when he comes regardless, he comes in. Which I didn't like because I understand it's his establishment, but come on. M

DO NOT!|DO NOT!|DO NOT EVEN RESERVE A ROOM. |IT IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND VERY SNEAKY THEY WAY THEY CHARGE YOUR C/C.|AVOID THIS PLACE NO MATTER WHAT. THERE ARE OTHER CHOICES IN THE IMMEDIATE ARE THAT ARE REPUTABLE AND ACCEPTABLE PLACES TO STAY RIGHT BY THE LAKE.

Absolutely not. Exterior door was not secure. Filthy. AC did not work. Awful musty smell. Shower was stained and moldy. Comforter and towels were stained and discolored. Fridge in room was disgusting, things growing in it. We checked in and promptly checked out (without refund). Decent hotels 10 minutes away for just 10 dollars more.

Been here since July. I'm having a baby soon and owners showed up with gifts for the baby. On holidays they bought gifts for people in the motel. They clean the rooms daily. They knock on my door in the morning and announce themselves and I tell them what I need because I clean my own room since I been here so long but if I didn't feel up to it they are more than happy to clean it for me. I've been short on rent and they understood and let me owe them or if I was a few dollars short told me not to worry about it. They work hard on maintaining this motel and are overall great people. If you follow the basic rules that every motel has, like not smoking in the room or disturbing others then everything will be fine. I've never had one issue with this place. The rates are fair and other guests

Very clean rooms, sheets and pillows. Fair price for a quiet, spacious and well maintained hotel at a peaceful location and the owner was very patient with my two babies who were really tired of sitting from a long ride and needed to stretch their legs. You can tell the owners are proud of their establishment and I would 10/10 recommend. We’ll definitely be staying again on our next visit to Detroit.
