Country Hearth Inn & Suites Kenton

Not really much to say. My parents paid for this hotel for me for a week, so it was much appreciated. Not exactly stellar, but decent. For me, a major issue was there was no light available when walking into the room. And there was a blown bulb in the lamp closest to the bed. It was a frustrating experience. And mildly irritating is that the tv cc will not turn off, nor does the power button turn the tv off. Only going on day 2 of a 6 night stay, so I cannot rate or comment on service or breakfast offerings.

Positive: Very clean room and a nice pool area, restaurants and stores were close. Negative: No hot water in the morning for a shower.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Only recommedation for them is to not say the room number when you hand a guest a key - you don't know if they're traveling alone and who may overhear. Room was very clean; only complaint was that right when you walked in the door, it smelled a little like stinky feet, but only in that area, so the rest of the room was fine. A little nervous after I checked in as I passed 3 different people that seemed to be high on something, but I locked my door & had no issues.

When I stayed here in 1999 as it was the Amerihost Inn, it was an exceptionally nice hotel. But apparently, the current owners prefer to be slumlords. There are numerous issues, as listed: -Beds aren't queen beds. They are FULL beds. -Pillows are all flat and need replaced. -Complimentary hair dryer GFCI plug was broke and has been for a long time based on appearance. This is a clear shock and fire hazard. -Mirror on door in room must be 3M taped on, but the clips are all busted loose which is concerning, and the door itself looks like it came out of a modular built in 1995. -Carpets in several locations are beyond service life and need replaced. -There is a hole in the ceiling in one location in the hallway. -There is a sag/trip hazard in the floor in front of room 206. -Almost every win

Booked room for one night for a wedding and worse experience ever. First room smelled awful and the air conditioner was broken so they moved me to another room which also smelled awful. There were no towels or wash clothes only had a hand towel. When going to check out I was once again charged for the room. Unable to speak to manager because they weren’t there on a Sunday and have to wait until tomorrow to try to get refunded. Do not recommend this hotel at all.
