Cottam's Lodge

I enjoyed my stay at Cottams Lodge. Check in had to be done 1.5 miles up the road at Alpine Suites; however, check in was seamless with Eric. He was very pleasant and efficient. My room (Studio C) was upstairs and had good views out the front and side windows, which opened up to get a cross breeze. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were of great quality. The goon came with a full kitchen, and although the refrigerator was half size, it did have a freezer which kept my ice and ice cream. My room was quiet, large and comfy. Though I had no cell service at the lodge, I could get excellent service 1.5 miles up the road. I will stay here again the next time I am in Taos Ski Valley.

Had a pretty wild experience here! First off the place is super convenient, easy to find, close to the slopes, and the room is spectacular. Very clean, nicely furnished, everything works. So on the first morning, we woke up, used the restroom, then discovered that the pipes were frozen. No morning teeth brushing, coffee making, or . . . toilet flushing. Called the office and they said they'd work on it. Unfortunately when we returned from skiing, the water was still off because the pipe hadn't thawed yet. After ski shower would have to wait (but they did say that if it didn't resolve soon they would send us elsewhere). This review is for studio D, which I would NOT recommend. Wish I had read the other review before booking and paid the small premium to stay in a different one. 1. The heating system makes a ton of noise when it shuts off for an incredibly long amount of time (20min+). I do not know why it would rattle and creak for so long, it woke me up multiple times in the middle of the night and was so loud I literally thought someone was knocking at the door. Completely ruined my ability to get decent sleep. 2. The ceiling and stairs are incredibly creaky and noisy whenever anyone above is walking. Better hope you do not need to sleep when they are awake. There is also a notable gap in the door due to the natural curve in the wood that allows cold air in but also someone to see into the room, which

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin and had a delightful time. The cabin was very spacious and suited our needs very will with a pull out sofa in the living room, queen bed in the main bedroom and 2 twin beds in the loft. We had a laugh each day as two 56 year old women climbed up and down the ladder to our room. Hey! We still got mobility and had a great time. The loft room with the twin beds is very spacious. The kitchen provided everything we needed to make each meal. The area is very peaceful and quiet which we really enjoyed during the early mornings and evenings after the gentle rains. If and when we are back in the area, we will definitely look to book the cabin again for our ladies trip. Thank you so much for a much better experience than we expected.

We loved staying at Cottam’s Lodge. The staff went over and above in being helpful, accommodating and communicative! We had access to the Alpine lodge hot tub and sauna which are very nice.
