Cottages El Portal

This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had. The property advertises a reception available from 8am to 8pm, but this is simply not true. Nobody answers the phone, nobody responds to messages, and there is absolutely no assistance if something goes wrong. When we arrived, we could not access the property and tried calling repeatedly for help. No one answered. We were left outside for nearly four hours with no support at all. Eventually another guest had to help us because the host was completely unreachable. This place operates like an abandoned self-service cottage rather than a hotel or guesthouse. IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, YOU ARE COMPLETELY ON YOUR OWN !! Even at checkout the lock box would not open, and again there was no one to contact. We had no choice but

I travelled easter weekend so everything in South Beach was fully booked. Cottages are 20 mins drive from South beach but take an Uber as parking is crazily expensive. Cottages are in a small complex with a nice garden. Its approx 1.5km to the nearest supermarket. The cottage is well equipped but a bit old fashioned. Very clean and comfortable with free parking.

Stayed here for a long weekend in March. Pros: Arrived a couple of hours early and we were able to get us in to our room quickly, which we were grateful for! Compared to other options in the area we were pleased with how affordable it was. Lots of things were drivable from here and it was nice to have a kitchen space. Cons: We were a little surprised at the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the studio compared to the pictures online. Hooks falling off of walls, stains on furniture, and a bit of a funky smell. Towels could use an upgrade and the whole place could use a thorough clean. But if you're ballin on a budget and want something safe, this isn't a bad option :)

Hello! Decided to write this review so I can help some people. I travelled with a friend to visit Miami for 3 days and we booked the Cottage because it worked well for us, we didn’t have any high expectations but we were very surprised and pleased with most things! The room is cozy and has everything you need, the bed is comfortable and we loved having a little kitchen for us! The bathroom is good, not all new but still good! The service is super fast and easy to understand, the owner sends emails with instructions and they’re super easy to follow! The location is okay, if you’re looking to visit many places, it’s located kinda far, it’s easier if you have a car (which you have a parking space for), but we did most things by bus. This place needs some maintenance really bad!!!! The stove is in really bad shape, check the picture and see how rusty it is. Also, the toilet seat cover is broken and crooked, as shown in the picture, every time it was used it moved to the side. The bathroom sink is falling off and angled at an awkward angle. The grab bars are also in really bad shape and rusty. There was an extremely strong smell of mildew in this bathroom; it took about 2 days to go away... The instructions sent to open the door are missing steps and the manager forgets to send them some times, you have to chase him down, and he does not like to be called, he will be like, send a message... Overall, the location is fairly okay, but the rooms and the customer service need a lot of improvement.
