Beautiful area. Has a well kept vault, multiple camping sites and very quick access to the trail up West Spanish peak. The trail itself to the summit is 9.9 miles. It was brutal, but beautiful.
Peaceful and beautiful small campground with fire pit and bathroom for $12 per night. Well kept and gorgeous view from camping and from trail. Even we camped on middle July, got super cold at night so be prepared and bring water to put down fire.
Clean pit toilet, plenty of parking, good campsites. Road in was doable in a Camry as of July 2024. It can get very windy so make sure your tent is secure. Great star viewing at the overlook (about a half mile walk from the campsites).
Great quiet, secluded campground and the trails are for all different levels of hikers. Gorgeous views worth a trip! Plus they keep the campground in clean and great shape!
This is a super easy hike. I would call it a stroll. We weren't outfitted for hiking at all and it was extremely enjoyable. The views are breathtaking. Dogs and kids will love this walk!
