We had an amazing family camping vacation with our grown children and our grandchildren. We stayed on four separate RV sites. We also brought our ATVs so we could check out the trails. We were never bored, each day we swam in the river, and we even panned for gold (no luck finding any, but it was still fun). The ATV trails were awesome, the views were breathtaking, and we even saw a moose, some wild turkeys, a few bald eagles, a giant wood pecker, and some jack rabbits. |The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and showers were the best I've ever seen in a campground, and they were always clean. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves.|Our family had a wonderful time there, and we are definitely planning on going back again next year!
Being a local-ish born and raised nearby I’ve always driven by this campground but never had the opportunity to stay. We stayed this past long holiday weekend to break-in our “new to us” travel trailer in the lower park area. Hard to see the entrance (at night) if you’re arriving in the dark. The staff was especially helpful with everything we needed. Bob took time to helped me get unhitched and was super friendly! Bathroom/showerhouse is in great shape and very clean. We stayed in a pull through with all of the hook ups. Pretty level, with a fire pit and picnic table. All of the lots and nice and wooded and you’re not stacked right up on top each other. Access foot trail to the Swift River from the gravel pit. Rangeley is about a 30-ish minute drive. Rumford about the same. TONS of advent
What a fantastic weekend spent at Coos Canyon Campground. The campsite was great, the bathrooms clean, and more importantly the staff was friendly and welcoming. The check in process was smooth with Tori and Jeff was found walking around the campground Saturday and Sunday morning eager to engage in conversation and answer any questions my husband had. Looking forward to booking several more stays in 2026 when reservations open back up in January!!!
I called on a Thursday evening off season and asked about availability for a tent site for Friday night only. The female on the phone said they had 6-7 sites available either in the upper or lower camps and I could take my pick at 45.00 per night. I agreed to call back the next day and book a site. When I called back to book the site she said the site was now 60.00 instead of the 45.00 price given yesterday. When questioned the price dropped to 43.00. Then I was told that I couldn’t book a site for one nite and I had to book it for two nites minimum even if I was only staying for one. . I decided not to camp there because there are several free campsites up on the hill behind the campground. Since I was meeting a local group I did get a day pass to enter the campground to attend a meet
Sites are roomy and the campground is clean. The bathrooms and showers were amazing! Had a great time with friends! Can't wait to get back ❤️ ATV trail access is great as well as the river too! Staff/owners are friendly!
