Comfort Inn & Suites Grundy

Quiet, consistently clean location that absolutely strives to make you happy during your stay! Been coming here multiple times over the years and the experience is always consistent, clean, and welcoming, had no signs of bugs and black light inspections look good. Water temperature WORKS and one of the few hotels I’ve stayed in with a half decent water pressure!

My wife and I stayed March 12, 2023 and had a very nice experience. The room and other aspects were clean. I was officiating at a funeral and needed to make changes to my message but probably a previous customer had changed the settings so the new computer was not communicating with the printer. Both the desk clerk and the manager quickly came to get it going. Actually, it was the same courteous interaction I had received from others in the town.

We like your hotel but this was not the best visit. I had two rooms I was in 214 which had a bad TV controller, we had to clean a big hair ball mess out of the shower drain and the shampoo bottle was so stiff that it took two people to squeeze the bottle. In 211, which did not have a number by the door, the comode flush handle wasnot working properly and the control handle in the shower was broken, we were given a reduction in rate at the front desk but not the best visit this time.

The hotel seems in need of a remodel and update. Room smelled like a dog had stayed for quite awhile. The carpet was worn and in the hallways it is frayed. The halls and lobby have fresh drywall repairs that are unpainted and gouges and marks that have not been repaired. The staff is very nice and helpful… but the hotel just seems worn out.

** BED BUGS** I reserved this room for my team, and while the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating, they did acknowledge the bed bug problem. Sadly, one of my employees had a bad reaction after being bitten. They really need to be proactive about treating and resolving this issue; nobody wants their loved ones or these pests to return home with them and contaminate their environment.
