Codorniz Recreation Area Campground

The Codorniz Recreation Area overall, consists of three campgrounds, all on the east side of HV Eastman Lake, two boat launch ramps, one on the east side and one on the west side, and several day use and picnic areas, all on the west side. The primary campground has about 75 single-family sites, of which about half are "standard" sites, meaning no hookups, and the other half are hookup sites with water faucets and electric hookups. Of the sites with electric hookup, about half of them include 50-amp service with a NEMA 14-50 outlet and a TT-30 outlet, plus two 20-amp outlets. The other half have TT-30 and 20 amp only (no 50 amp service). Very peaceful and calm COE park. We definitely enjoyed our stay here. The staff that received us were extremely helpful and kind. Water pressure was low and the power went out once, but came back after an hour. Dump stations were closed, but we were able to the use the sewer in the site next to when needed. We had a nice gazebo and firepit as well as our own trashcan. During the night you could see all the stars in the sky and hear cow mooing and what sounded like a coyote family howling away. The road getting to our site was a bit narrow for a 42 foot fifth wheel, but manageable. Our site was leveled and accommodated both the fifth wheel and truck. We camped at Codorniz Recreation Area Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very quiet 9/29 - weekday. $20, limited cell reception, friendly hosts.

Sites 9, 10, for the view, and 11 for the same spot with shade are the only sites worth using. If you can afford it, book all three plus 12 and 13, for a quieter experience.

We camped here on our way to Yosemite. This was a beautiful campground. Peaceful. Hosts were a delight. Bathroom and shower were spotless. View was great!! Even got a little cell service.
