Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Avoca

This was the 5th hotel room on a 12 day holiday and It was The most pleasant experience. We are traveling with our two companion dogs and from the moment we walked in we were treated with dignity and respect by the desk person. She made sure sure we had easy access to walking the dogs outside and made clear the various amenities. The sheets were soft, the bed comfortable with ample pillows. The room was clean and well appointed.

We were so grateful for this hotel during a snowstorm on our drive from Denver to Chicago. It was all that was available where we really needed to stop last minute, and having never heard of the chain I was worried. We ended up so impressed!! Clean, comfortable, free breakfast and evening snacks, and everyone who worked there was beyond friendly even when they were stranded at work in a storm. It was a great price with a fair pet fee too!

We had such a pleasant stay here with incredible staff! The night employee Ann was such a help with my toddler and entertained him in the lobby during our in and out family chaos hosting our grandmothers funeral in town. They also found my treasured earring which had fallen off in our bed and mailed it back to me safe and sound!

Positive: Nothing Negative: Very poor breakfast. Air Conditioner sounded like it was on it?s last leg. No body soap in shower dispenser. Had to get our own.. Dirty pillow case on bed.

Solo motorcycle ride in late September from OC California to Auburn, CA to visit friends. Then east on I-80 and on day 4, after riding all day, stopped in Avaco, Iowa to gas up. I saw the Cobblestone Inn & Suites and decided to call it a day. The outside of the hotel looked pretty nice, although motorcycles should use caution when entering the parking lot. There were two decent size pot holes. Ann checked me in and gave me room 104 on the 1st floor. Ann was very nice and accommodating. She smiled, was friendly and seemed to enjoy her job. The room was very nice and met my expectations. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was because I thought the price was a little steep for its location and tourist season was over. The maxim that comes to mind: location, location, location!
