Clinton Inn Hotel & Event Center

I grew up in Tenafly, and know this hotel well over 50+ years. It used to be *the* opulent destination for hotel, dining, weddings, etc.|I wish the current owners/town would realize the potential of returning this place back to the centerpiece of the town it once was. So much potential!||With that said, we needed a place to stay over Christmas. I knew the rooms were old, dated, and worn but it’s only one night, right? What a pleasant surprise to enter into one of the refurbished rooms! Clean, simple modern, roomy, bright, upgraded furnishings and bathroom — no dingy carpeting or heavy quilts! The beds were very comfortable. ||Friends of ours stayed the same night. They had one of the older, dated rooms with bulky furniture, dark, old carpeting, etc. But it was clean and they said

Great base for visiting NYC – Clean rooms and excellent service! We stayed here for 4 days to visit New York City and absolutely loved our experience. Upon arrival, the place and our room were very clean, which is the most important thing for us. The hotel is a bit older, especially the bathrooms which have a vintage feel, but everything was spotless. A special mention to Steve, who took great care of us! He was always smiling and available whenever we needed a refill on coffee or shampoo. For transportation to NYC, the location is very convenient. The 166X (I-95 Express) bus is very fast and gets you to Port Authority in about 40 minutes. The 166T is also a good option. We highly recommend this place for a pleasant stay.

Positive: You can take a bus from NYC that will put you right in front of the hotel. From the hotel you can walk to town. No car needed. Negative: It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room but there is one available in the lobby for guest use.

GREAT! Booked a room last moment and this place exceeded my expectations. The older guy at the front desk (Dan I think) had great communication and customer service skills. The rooms were clean, spacious and bed was comfortable. Steve at the front desk was great as well, he made sure the check out was smooth and answered all my questions. The management seems to be doing a good job! Will definitely be staying here again when I'm in the area!

I recently stayed at this hotel and I don't usually review places I stay at, but I had to leave a review after the amazing service I received during my stay here. I arrived late at night to check in and Steve was the one who greeted me with a smile. Steve had such a friendly and warm demeanor. I instantly felt welcomed. Steve made the check-in process incredibly smooth and I was able to get checked in in under 10 minutes. He is professional and knows what he's doing. Definitely a valuable member in the hospitality business due to his professionalism, efficiency, and welcoming demeanor.
