Clayshire Castle

Absolutely amazing. Beautiful castle and grounds. Breakfast was more than expected and delicious. As authentic as you can get without being uncomfortable. The owners are full of enthusiasm and history knowledge. I will definitely be booking again.

After one of my twin daughters graduated with a masters degree from IU we wanted to do something relaxing and fun. We found just the right spot in Clayshire Castle! Both my daughters and I loved meeting the medieval loving couple who own and operate the castle as a bed and breakfast. We were greeted at check-in with a castle-shaped chocolate cake and drinks. They have a large collection of medieval attire to choose from for photo ops, lots of DVDs to watch, gorgeous grounds to roam, cozy themed rooms and a delicious breakfast served in a giant dining room fit for a king. So worth the drive for this unique and rewarding experience!

This was our second stay at Clayshire Castle, and it was once again wonderful. The castle itself is beautiful and Sir Douglas and Lady Jo were incredible hosts who made our stay very enjoyable. Would recommend for anyone wanting a nice getaway!

My friends and I went for Medieval Faire this year for the first time. It really was a wonderful experience. We are already planning on going next year. So many things to see, we toured the castle, and many wonderful vendors to buy trinkets from.

Clayshire Castle is a charming bed and breakfast tucked far off the beaten path, well away from the trappings of modern life. We stayed in the Fairytale Room and enjoyed an enchanting stay. The hosts were friendly, funny, accommodating, and professional. The grounds were beautifully kept, and the facilities were in excellent condition. We will definitely be back, not only because of how charming the experience was, but also because the area feels full of places left to explore. Clayshire Castle would be a fantastic spot to bring a gaming group for an epic campaign finale or a marathon session. There’s plenty of space for games of all kinds, which makes it feel both magical and practical. As a bonus, I’d also recommend guests visit the Exotic Feline Rescue Center nearby. It’s a wonderful
