Clarke Motel

Mike from the Clark Motel is the man! They do recovery, fix sleds, and overall have an awesome place to stay when you ride sleds! Mike stayed up late and fixed my buddy’s skidoo replacing the secondary’s rollers. Totally more than fair on the charge too! This guy and place is awesome!

Winter time is the right time for a visit to the Clarke motel. The room heaters work very well. The showers are clean the water very hot and great water pressure. Not to mention very clean water. After a conversation with the owner. We learned this hotel was built in 1939. Impressive longevity for a business in the U.P. This is a family run business. These owners know how to facilitate customers in the proper fashion. If you are looking for an economical way to stay close to trail head you have found your place.

Mike is the BEST! The Clarke Motel totally saved our entire WEEKEND!!! I called this place on a Friday night on a busy snowy weekend when I discovered a broken clutch on my snowmobile.I had heard of Mike helping so many others in the past and he did the same for me!! He had my sled in and out of his barn within 30 minutes. He is very fair with pricing and went over the top to even put a new belt on for me. He did all of this work at 11:00 pm on a busy weekend and is a great human. THANK YOU AGAIN MIKE & CLARKE MOTEL, I will never forget the help you afforded us!!

We accidentally came upon this wonderful spot to stay with our motorhome for the night. The pull through lots are large and easy to park. There are many unique and fun things to explore on the property, including two bar areas connected by an underground tunnel. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. The time visiting around the huge campfire was very enjoyable and the flaming bowling ball was a blast. This is totally different than any campground we've ever experienced and we highly recommend you check it out.

The Clark was great. It has base board water heat which kept the room semi humid instead of super dry like many of the motels I stayed at this week snowmobiling. The owner was nice and accommodating her husband works on sleds too. The room was small but had three beds. Two people with gear would be good three would be cramped. They provide a fan too that is great for drying gear out over night. It was right off the trail but you had to know where to get off the trail as it can be missed especially at night.
