Clarion Inn Sheffield Muscle Shoals

Recently stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was phenomenal and very courteous. The Hotel was very nice and spacious. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bar area was very unique and a fun environment. The breakfast was surprisingly good. Real close to places to shop and eat as well. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

The front desk staff were delightful, but the rest of my stay was...meh... The building was once very nice but now is very run down. The landscaping is nothing but dry weeds. There was an overflowing garbage can in the stairwell nearest my room stinking to high heaven the entire time I was there, despite complaints to the front desk. It was stinking up the hallway in my end of the second floor. Housekeeping never touched my room during my three-night stay. Didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. My room was clean enough, but dingy. Exterior stairwell doors were not locked, nor was the electronic latch on the outside door at my end of the building. Only stay here if you're out of choices.

Don't believe the photos, they were taken many years ago and are not even a close representation of how bad this place actually is. I pulled up and the parking lot was overgrown with weeds, almost as if it was abandoned. ||All through the parking lot were signs warning to not leave belongings in your car and be careful, that they weren't responsible for break-in's. Nice.||So, I get into the hotel itself, and it appears to be a ghost town. Windows have fogged from being broken and not repaired. The hotel is dirty, like there's not enough staff to clean it. ||I check into my room and the first thing I notice is the smell- it's smells of mold and mildew. I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel last weekend. I have to say the owner and the staff are delightful! I got the chat with them about the work and investments going into renovating this wonderful space. We spend time in the bar which was very beautofully laid out. The wonderful open spaces of the lobby and courtyard give it a great feel. All the mattresses and linens are obviously brand new. I can not wait to stay here again and see the progress they make. The location is pretty and quiet as well. It was a pleasant change from the usually highway side hotel surrounded by fast food and gas stations.

I was excited when we first got there because the lobby looks beautiful. But once we got on our floor, it had a stuffy smell. The entire floor smelled like weed and it altogether just needs a facelift. The good things about it was the staff was friendly! I thought it was weird that the coffee maker was in the bathroom But I do wanna say the shower head was clean and the bathtub was clean. It’s not like the room was dirty. It just is old. One thing that ruined my nights sleep was the blanket was so thin. It was like having just a sheet on me. I definitely would not stay there again.
