Just stopped for a few minutes while passing through....its so serene, beautiful and peaceful.
Great City park!! Lot of room with about 200' or more from each campsite. Each site has 30& 50 amp service and a permanent shelter and bbq grill. Even large picnic table with a Buffett stand for you. Water is shared so make sure you have a multi faucet hookup. Some are posted No hookup to water but fill your tanks. Awesome view of Scott Mountain and Lawtonka lake. Swimming and beach area for your family. $20 for green painted premium sites $17 for Brown painted sites. Discount for 62 and over at the Brown painted campsites Only! Maybe I shouldn't post this gem of a Park. They fill up fast starting Wednesday for the weekend. Soooo hurry!!!
We stayed one night in the Lawtonka Lake East Campgrounds. Nice little campground on the side of the lake with electric hook-ups (50amp only, no 30amp and no 15-20amp) . There are water connections throughout the campground, but not at each campsite. There is a dump station available at the entrace next to the restrooms. Registration is a little different, go choose any open campsite, drop your stuff and go down the road to the city admin building (old house about 1/2 mile south of the campgrounds) and put your money in one of their envelopes. You'll need your RV and car's license plate numbers and campsite number.
For a man-made lake in the middle of nowhere, right between somewheresville and nowheresville. Is just one of the Majestic views of Oklahoma.. Lawtonla has a wide variety of outdoor activities. All with a view of Mt. Scott.
There's no place like it! BUT, the campsites leave a lot to be desired. There's only 1 shared dump station located a quarter mile away. There are no level pads, being only a patch of gravel to park your RV on. The placement of the electric plug-ins could be toward the rear or the front of your RV. It's a roll of the dice. Water spigots are sparsely placed and must be shared. Unfortunately, there are selfish campers who seem to think they're there for them, as they connect their hoses and leave them connected. Although you pay a premium price for a campsite by the water, loners invade your spot to go swimming, like it's a day-use area. It's not, but they don't care. They have no ethics there. If you call them out on wandering through your site, they call you names and tell you that it's not
