Really nice quick stop near Iowa City to stay a night in the rv. I felt safe and the bathrooms were nice, clean and working.
Great baseball fields. Clean bathroom. Lots of parking space and bleachers in good shape. Doug outs were nicely maintained as well. We had a great time watching the game. The campground was across the parking lot and is spacious. There's a big pool and a playground area. Nicely cared for.
We lived in the area for years but had no idea this campground was here. Right behind the city park and municipal swimming pool. Level spaces and some with shade. 50 AMP with water at each site for only $20/night. Only about one-quarter full. Next to the livestock sale barn so there is a strong farm odor and on cattle sale days it is noisy. We camped at Kalona City Campground in a Motorhome.
Came here to use the RV dump station. $10.00. Has potable water. Easy access. Not too busy.
This place is fun and doesn't try to be something it's not. Loud mennonite baseball games, loud music at the swimming pool and lots of kids. But we actually liked it because we knew going in it wasn't a quiet CG. The price is right for water and electric. The stupid part is a lot of the sites have only ONE AC pedistal for TWO sites! ?? How bizarre. Worth a night or 2 at most.
