Chinquapin Inn is a delight from start to finish! The rooms are spacious and cozy with lots of artistic touches and wonderful aged wood. But the real highlight is interacting with Suzanne the hostess and enjoying her beautifully prepared breakfasts with an assortment of ceramics by local artists. She is so hospitable and accommodating. Thanks to her, her husband Bill and dog Molly we felt totally at home and relaxed. Penland School is just up the road but the Inn is ideally located for anyone wishing to explore the Blue Ridge Mountain area. We couldn’t recommend it more highly for an authentic and enjoyable experience.

Absolutely beautiful place. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. I felt like I was at home even though I was many miles from it. Suzanne offers such a warm hospitality she feels like family right from the start. Breakfast is amazing and coffee is served from hand crafted mugs from artists in the area. When I first walked in I was greeted by the pleasant smell of aged wood and seeing an abundance of artwork always in eye sight. This is an amazing and comfortable place to stay.

This inn was so cozy and beautiful! The room felt so much more welcoming / beautifully decorated than most hotels etc. I've stayed at. The host was kind and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

A quiet clean and secluded home next door to Penland School of the Crafts. If you are planning a class at Penland I would recommend staying here. Suzanne is a cheerful accommodating host with lots of stories and history of the region. Breakfast was always the best meal of the day! Next time we are in the area we know we have a great place to stay!

Suzanne and Bill were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed a lot in their quaint little B&B which they have been operating since 1986! The B&B has a unique charm which you do not see these days. They talked to us about Bill's days back in India during the 1950's and even showed us pictures! They gave us a recommendation of a local farm to table themed restaurant "Knife and Fork" for our dinner and I would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to give it a try. Suzanne made us comfortable in all respects and even cooked us an excellent breakfast before we left. We were really grateful of her to accommodate our Vegetarian diet for the breakfast. I would highly recommend this place to any one looking to experience a charming/quaint B&B experience.
