(8/8/25) Beautiful trail including open fields and lots of hiking along the shoreline of the Back River. Large parking lot fits about 20 cars. Zero crowds upon arrival. Perfect summer weather. Trails are easy to follow. No public restrooms here.
Beautiful trails along Back River and in the woods. Highlight of yesterday’s walk was seeing this amazing Lady Amherst’s pheasant on a path near the parking area! He was not at all afraid of us, and since they are native to China and Burma, it must be a “pet” of someone in the area.
We took our pup on the field loop. Loved the nature, different native asters, goldenrod as far as you can see! Even Virginia rose
A beautiful set of trails that end at Chewonki campgrounds and nature center. The field loop is still a little on the wet side. A beautiful place to take your children or pets to stretch and get some exercise
Great 2 mile hike w good views.
