Cherokee Dam Park

Nov 9, a beautiful fall day to visit here before the cold front snap. A gorgeous view on the top of dam. A nice trail to hike with my canine. Met many visitors along.

This is one lake I truly loved and I have been to many. The park was clean and well kept. The views were just gorgeous. The water had an emerald tint to it. I felt I was in Florida there for a minute. Lots of places to walk, clean bathrooms, swimming area, picnic tables all through the park, pets are allowed but in certain areas. Lots of great swimming holes if you want privacy, and its free!

Great place to get in some exercise while taking in the beautiful views. They have a boat launch opened to the public with a small campground. Public toilets and pavilions require a permit to rent. They have a beautiful walkway on the damm with a great set of stairs with about 100 steps to the top. I love exercising here and taking in the scenery

I like to go here and was my car on the weekdays when the crowds are light. Nice restroom. Very relaxing place to hang out. Great boat ramp area. Very nice camping area for tents or small trailers.

Love this park. Little to no traffic, great 2 mile loop to walk the dog through woods and grass fields on a well maintained trail. Slight slope and there are approximately 200 stairs to the top of the dam. You can also walk on top of dam for a paved level walk.
