Chelsea House

I have been here for a while now, and my experience has been entirely positive. I moved into a room that was freshly painted with a brand new refrigerator and when I went to wipe down the top shelf of the closet before moving things in, there was literally no dust on my cloth. The halls and bathrooms are cleaned twice a week, the tenants are respectful and friendly without being intrusive. I find the presence of an onsite manager to be the key to why this facility is so clean, peaceful, and sane. We all know what boarding houses can be like - pure danger and chaos! This facility has none of that, because the manager is easily accessible, vigilant and protective of the quality of life here and always willing to help. Because the house is managed so tightly, the quality of tenant is high.

I moved to Chelsea House three months ago . The application process was easy and fast I was quickly approved. The building manager is great and personable and is always available with any questions or concerns. I found that most of the residents are friendly, yet keep themselves it’s just very convenient only 2 miles from my place of work

From start to finish, everything has been a smooth transition. I'm very happy with how close I am to down town Somerville, the train station and 287. The neighborhood is quiet and the other tenants are friendly. The building manager has been great from the initial inquiry to move-in day, and does her best to meet residents' needs promptly. There is on site parking available and a convenient community laundry room.

Excellent location within walking distance to RWJ Hospital, downtown Somerville, Shoprite and Somerville Train Station. I'd recommend for a single adult male or female who's looking for an all inclusive affordale private room with electric, heat, wifi, refrigerator, microwave, sink, closet and starter furnishings. It's well managed, common spaces are cleaned regularly and the room is what you make of it but the location makes it the best deal around. Somerville is a great town. Parking is also available for a nominal monthly fee.

This "extended stay" hotel hell is infested with roaches in certain rooms, rooms are about the size of closets, it's terribly managed with ever changing cost and fees, there is little to no maintenance to speak of, and lastly all the old paint is chipping exposing lead paint underneath everywhere creating a very unhealthy environment to eat and sleep. The living conditions are deplorable. It's surprising the Health Department hasn't shut the place down.
