After 15 yrs of staying on Monhegan Island, we decided to try Chebeague. The Inn is a glorious survivor of days gone by, and having an understanding of your typical Maine Island Inns we were not disappointed. |The short (15 min) ferry ride from Cumberland was smooth and comfortable. As we are older, we called the Inn ahead of time and their shuttle driver met us at the dock and delivered us at the top of the hill, right at the entrance. (But younger, heartier souls could easily walk it). We had booked a 2nd floor room with bath - do your homework, some have shared hallway baths only. Our corner room overlooked the ocean on one side and the golf course on the other. A lovely cross breeze each night, along with the ceiling fan, made sleeping extremely comfortable.|Breakfast is served Contine

These guys are charging way too much. 10/10 location and porch overlooking the water, but the hotel and restaurant aren’t worth anywhere near $400+ per night. Service in the restaurant is excellent (we love Josh!) but the and vibe of the front desk is really off. After asking the for a shuttle ride down to the ferry upon our departure, the front desk saying they’d come get us, and then the shuttle departing several minutes early without any notice or apology from the front desk after us checking back in we’ll before the shuttle’s departure, we were left feeling ripped off after paying over $1000 for a 2 night stay in a really charming but pretty dated hotel.

On the surface, the Chebeague Inn looks completely charming, and in some ways, it is. Overall however, for the price, it is completely unremarkable. The prices are obnoxiously high for an inn where many rooms are shared baths. For example, two nights in late September for a basic queen room is over $700, WITH A SHARED BATH. Chebeague Island itself has little to nothing on it, which is really nice. Very few people, charming, quiet. Easy to ride a bike around or rent a golf cart. But the Inn's charm ends at the curb appeal for the most part. Food is good but nothing to write home about. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It may not be possible but if you're considering visiting, look for an AirBnB instead. Or stay on another island or in Portland and make Chebeague a day visit.

Quintessential Maine in a charming inn! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. The ferry and bus transportation worked like a fine Swiss watch, getting us to the inn perched on a bluff overlooking the ocean. We were immediately greeted by staff that were incredibly helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable—- going out of their way to drive us to the beach, ferry and anywhere we wanted to go! They (all of them) could not have been nicer! Our room was small but immaculate with comfortable linens and pillows. Our bathroom was immaculate with a great hot shower. And the food! Every meal was 10/10. For breakfast, there was quiche, yogurt, berries, fruit, granola and several pastries all made in-house. Dinner menu had steak, chicken, fish, salads and a veg

Simply the best meal I've ever had. Green Goddess salad was phenomenal and the Pollock Schnitzel was unique and incredibly flavorful. The summer zucchini was a one-of-a-kind approach to the vegetable, and the unusual combination of flavors worked perfectly. One of the most unique and astounding restaurants I've ever attended. Prices match the setting, quality and ambiance, it is pricey, but it is well worth the overtime. Finished it off with Maine Blueberry Pie, a wonderful addition and conclusion to the meal. Our waiter, a younger gentleman whose name evades my consciousness was incredibly polite, accomodating, and wonderful. Overall, a stunning evening with wonderful food, great company and excellent ambiance. A must-go if given the wonderful opportunity to experience this superb and ste
