Chautauqua Hillcrest Inn

For my Husband's Birthday, we visited Southern Tier Brewery and were looking for a hotel close by. I found the Chautauqua Hillcrest Inn online and I am certainly glad I did! The inn is only about a 5 minute drive from the brewery. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating- they let us check in 3.5 hours early because we had our dog with us. The rooms are beautiful, they definitely have a rustic feel (complete with a sliding barn door bathroom door!), and the sheets on the beds are very soft.||Breakfast was delicious! Very nice place to stay. Rooms were up to expectations, safe parking, good location. Breakfast was amazing and the personnel were beyond friendly and helpful. Would recommend and would definitely stay again. Thanks so much!

The pictures on Expedia made this look like an old, quaint B&B with a lodge kind of look to it. Lobby was actually pretty nice but room was musty, carpet was absolutely filthy with a bobby pin from a previous guest on the floor. No closet but a weird cut out on 1 wall with a long bar hung at waist height and a very small wire shelf. There was a mini fridge that looked like it was garbage picked on move out day from a local college with remnants of old bumper stickers still on it. Breakfast was actually very good even though I'm pretty sure I was served Tang. Sugar packet from Tim Horton's was actually pretty funny. Not sure I'd stay here again.

Would NOT recommend! Had reservations that the Inn confirmed with us--in fact they confirmed TWICE and called the DAY BEFORE to say they were overbooked!!!!! We were out a weekend away PLUS the deposit we put down to board our dogs. The owner said she'd try to HELP us find another place to stay--some help, it was 30 minutes away, not even near the lake. Owner also would not acknolwedge a very detailed letter we wrote, We wanted to support a mom and pop small business and learned the hard way. POOR way to run a business. Don't take reservations if you don't have the capability to fullfill the reservation. BUYER BEWARE! My husband surprised me with a stay at this wonderful rustic inn. It is a quaint rustic themed inn with friendly owner/hosts. The breakfast was not only very good, but very generous! Come to breakfast hungry!
