Chaumont River RV Park &Campground

Dear Eric and Sara, I hope this note finds you well. My husband, Rick, and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Chaumont R.V. Camp and renting the Woodpecker Cabin from July 3rd through July 7th, 2025. I wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for the exceptional experience we had during our stay. The park exceeded our expectations in every way. The facilities were immaculate, with the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at a public campground. The caretakers, including yourselves, and Carl and Paula were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, providing us with valuable information about the property and its rules. I'm unfortunately a seasonal camper here, truely the worst management/ownership in the 1000 Islands region. If you want to pay double what your electricity bill is at your 2000+ sq ft. home is, this is the place for you. As far as maintenance goes, your basically on your own. They only use duct tape here, nothing really fixed. No hot water in the bathroom/bathhouse, roads are terrible. Needless to say, I'll be moving on.

We have our trailer here on a permanent site. The park is well kept, the managers Carl and Paula are friendly, on top of everything and always around. Only 12 miles from Clayton and all the events on the river. I have been in other parks but this is by far the best.

Service was exceptional!! We are traveling with 2 other DRV Mobile Suites and have made all our reservations to accommodate our large rigs. We had reservations at another local campground for a couple of days. When we arrived at this other place they were full and had “lost” our reservation even though they had cashed our checks. We called Marla at Chaumont River RV and she went out of her way to accommodate all 3 of us which isn’t always easy. Marla graciously met us at the campground and walked the open spots to ensure that we would fit! She went above and beyond our expectations and we are so grateful. If you are in the area do give Marla a call and stay!!

To be fair the onsite manager was away for a family emergency. The Office was closed with a note to call X for information. When I called that person and informed him of our arrival he said to go to site #5. There I found an empty site. || When I called him back, he indicated that they did not realize we were renting an RV for two days. Then I was directed to site #7. There we found the RV, clean and unlocked. I called X back and was referred to another person for such details as to total cost and how to pay bill. There were no keys available so we could not lock doors, and hot water was not available. It took another day before the onsite manager returned and made the hot water functional.
