Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center

Definitely disappointed after staying here last night. The staff was very friendly and nice. But the rooms are definitely dated. I stayed here 20 years ago as a kid and decor seemed exact same. It was clean and well kept, but nothing fancier than the average hotel. There are also resort fees and parking fees that they add to your total. The indoor pool and hot tub were closed so I believe at least that should not have been charged. Its winter so outdoor things are all closed anyways. There weren't enough pillows in the room, the bed was okay, but not great. Also, the soaps smelled terrible. The rosemary geranium scent would definitely not be something most people would choose, and if you have any aversion to scent, this would've been really uncomfortable to stay here as even the "pure" air

My stay at Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center was a rollercoaster of emotions. Upon arrival I was super ecstatic to be in Branson. The trip was a surprise for my birthday. Pulling in the view was amazing and I couldn't wait to get the room. However upon entering the room I was met with less the satisfactory. There was hair all over the bathtub and it was truly, for lack of better words, disgusting! Upon reaching the front desk I met Ben. Ben met us at a level of concern and professionalism. He did all he could do to fix the situation. I really felt heard in my complaints. Ben then reached out to his superior, a blonde lady who didn't even introduce herself, and all did she was take our last name. Positive: The staff was extremely helpful and very nice. Negative: The room smelled musty and mildewy. Had to have them come in and spray. It was clean and the view beautiful, but the smell was an old smell. The smell made it hard to breath for my sister-in-law. Other than that, the hotel was wonderful and beautiful.

Our room was very clean. No blemishes. The staff was very cordial and respectful. The route there was very easy to navigate. I felt very comfortable. Everything around in town, great restaurants, recreation and entertainment of many varieties. It was between Christmas and new years during our stay. The decorations were beyond spectacular. Bordering a theme park experience of a Christmas wonderland. | I recommend it to friends and family. I would definitely come again.

Please don’t look at the 5 star reviews as they have got to be paid for. This hotel is an absolute nightmare. Only reason we go is because we have dance conventions here and it was already paid for this year. We have been coming for 3 years and it get worse every single visit. The door front staff who is absolutely fantastic must hate their job because I’m sure they have to fix every issue with tired customers. It’s non stop. The rooms are filthy and not dated but FILTHY. Dust so very bad and mold on the curtains. My daughter went behind the curtain and came out with white from head to toe. I’m 100% these curtains haven’t been cleaned in 40 years. The water was turned off for 7 hours, then when it came back on we didn’t have hot water for 36 hours. The towels and linens are so hard and scr
