The first time I came in here, I had a really bad experience and shook it off thinking that the second time can be a charm I was unfortunately wrong. The staff does not know how to treat people. The cleaning lady was the only person there that actually had a heart. I stayed for only one night, but they charged me for two when I called Them after I had already checked out They said " There was no charge on your card you must Have Asian eyes" I was shocked at how racist and low a person can be in life Luckily, I canceled my credit card. I have already contacted the BBB And hopefully an open investigation will be looked into this place.
Keep in mind that this motel is in a working fishing town. If you're expecting Embassy Suites, this is not it. BUT, the room was big, had everything we needed, and the caretaker was great. Other pros: NICE HOT shower, comfortable bed, good lighting, and you can open the windows to the sea air. Cons: the rugs and carpeting. The area rugs all turn up at the corners and we ended up rolling them all up and putting them in a corner just to avoid tripping on them. Plus they are pretty dirty. We're not hung up on sterile-clean, but the rugs and the carpet were pretty gross. Otherwise, no complaints and we liked the place.
We rented the Whale Watch Suite for five nights. No, you can't see any whales from the apartment. But, it was quiet, comfortable, spacious, and provided a great 'home away from home' during our visit. There are two decks - one off the bedroom and one off the living room. I loved having a dishwasher and full-size frig/freezer combo. My husband made use of the bidet; I couldn't get the hang of it. You can walk to a seafood restaurant called The Portside. Staff was very accomodating to our arrival time. The cost was cheaper than some of the national motel chains in nearby Bandon. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
Staying here was the worst experience ever! We were blind sided with extra charges/fines for our pet. This is a "pet friendly" so they say. They failed to inform us that someone complained about the dog barking the first day and on the second day told us about complaints and that we will have to pay a fine? Really!! Please tell me what dog doesnt bark!!
I wanted a quiet, restful, peaceful and affordable week away from the hustle-bustle of too many fellow travelers in and out, but close to shops, restaurants, local attractions, and the incredibly scenic Charleston Harbor and nearby Oregon coastline. And I was not disappointed! Charleston Harbor Inn has quality not only in the quaint but modern atmosphere, beautiful decor, and well-maintained and serviced rooms, but in the myriad little details that can turn a great stay into a spectacular one. I stayed in the Starboard Suite, which had a lovely private patio area (with hummingbirds!), a completely meal-ready kitchenette and dining area (real plates, cups, silverware and more), a desk and recliner for reading and writing postcards home, cable TV, free wifi (that always had a good signal for
