Setting up a rain tarp over your tent is camping 101 to keep your tent dry. Guess what? It rained. But I was ok that it rained. I came here to embrace Mother Nature and be a part of it. But you know what takes the cake? The camp ranger whipped out this laundry list of rules that includes “No strings/ropes around trees for you and the tree’s safety, regardless of weather.” Wow - camping is no longer camping. It’s glamping only here if it rains. We toughed it out nevertheless, wet soggy sleeping bags and all. Won’t ever come back again. Oh and guess what, you can’t even cut downed trees and logs along the forest roadsides. So tough luck if a tree falls and blocks the only road out. You’ll be reprimanded for being a hero with a chainsaw.
