Great little free campground with 5 or 6 sites, clean pit toilet and garbage service. We were there in December, there was no host on site (which I wouldn’t expect at a free campground) and no one else camping, though the weather was beautiful. There are lots of nearby hiking trails and the setting is beautiful and peaceful. Road in is slightly rough, but all except the lowest clearance could get in.

Cleanest pit toilet ive used any where. Nice little hide away quite, sheriff came through 3 times in 9 days. Nights were chilly,30s. Saw strange lights in distant mountains off and on for a couple nights. March 3 to 12 not alot of people camping.

Such a peaceful, clean, and large space to hang out. 3 gazebos with picnic tables under 2. From our count there are technically 4 spots. 3 pull through and one sort of turn out. Camp host is amazing and picks up your garbage every other day. Spotless pit toilet. Unfortunate that the cave is now on a moratorium for white nose syndrome in bats. Lots of hiking trails around with fantastic views!

Nice small little campground about 10 miles outside of Capitan, NM. There are 5 official spots, one is very close to the one we were in (as you can see in the video) so I will call it 4 spots unless you have friends you are camping with. Two of the spots do not have shade pavilions, 3 do. Garbage cans are at the campsites with coverings and there is one pit toilet for the campground. Fairly flat gravel sites and fire pits. This campground is a bit busy on the weekends but is very quiet as it's off the main road a ways. While we were here, the garbage was emptied regularly and the bathroom was clean and stocked. We were very impressed! Free camping for up to 14 days, very clean campground and great views of the Capitan mountains. 4G Verizon cell coverage, no T-Mobile. We would definit

Came here in early April 2021 on the suggestion of the hosts at Jagger's Campground about 2 miles away. The price is right (free) and the 2nd largest cave in NM is literally IN the campsite! It's closed (fence), but still very cool. Scenery is nice and it's super secluded. No water, but the vault toilet was cleaner than my home bathroom.
