Castroville Motel

We made the mistake of not booking a place to stay ahead of time on our May 2009 visit to Elkhorn Slough. We ended up at Castroville Motel, where I paid my $55 cash for a room for 2 adults and 2 children. Upon going to the room, it had one sagging small double bed and a small single bed. When I returned to complain that there was not enough room for all of us. The clerk pointed to the no refunds notice on the form I filled out. Perhaps I was being naive to assume that they would at least provide enough beds for the number of people that I informed them were in our party! We left without our money and booked at Motel 6. It was almost twice as much, but at least it was clean and we all had a bed!

No office no real/connected phone line

Very scary place. Looks like it's not very clean. Wouldn't stay here. Didn't stay here. looks like they'd have to have 'live in tenants' to keep this place a float, not even a cheap so I don't see how. Anyhow, I would not recommend staying here while on vacationing on the Monterey coast line.

Wir kamen von Fresno her und suchten einfach zwei Zimmer für die Nacht. Klar, das Motel ist kein Luxushotel doch bei diesem Preis kann man das nicht erwarten. Typisches, amerikanisches Motel mit geräumigen (alten) Zimmern, einer Dusche und WC. (Es hat sogar einen Haartrockner im Zimmer) Das Motel liegt an der Hauptstrasse von Castroville und man kann zu Fuss mehrere Restaurants erreichen. Das Zimmer war sauber. Man muss immer auch Preis/Leistung vergleichen, wir haben $ 59.- plus tax pro Zimmer bezahlt.
