Castor River Campground

I love going to Castor River Campground. We were there for a day trip. The river is perfect for the little ones.

4 stars for overall experience 3 where customer service is concerned. If you’re a day pass person call first and make sure someone will be at the store for you to pay before you drive out. Two different times now we’ve drove out only for the shop to be closed up early. And more than that a few other times we wanted to stop for drinks before we left and the store was closed early then too. Either honor the hours you have posted or change them. The lady who works up there never seems to be in a great mood either. I know yall don’t make big money off day swimmers, but still. Now on to the positive. This is a great campground everyone I’ve met out there has been really nice and the public swim area (rock beach) is plenty big enough to have your own space and not feel crowded. Lots of people h

It was one of the best camping experience's I've had in a long time! We stayed at the primitive #8 site! All the way on the end, which we preferred because it's only step's from the creek! We will be going back here to stay again! They have most of what you need to enjoy a weekend at the creek! Please follow the No Trace Camping rule's! This valley is beautiful!

We enjoyed taking our little kids there! Went swimming and kayaking, plus they played on the playground. The lady who worked at the office/store was very kind and helpful. There are movies that are available to watch and enjoy. Some people sat on the patio at the store and enjoyed the Cards game. The people also camping there were nice and friendly.

Very clean, well kept camp ground. We were there over the weekend and it was awesome. My 8 year old daughter called it glamping because of the store, shower and bathroom facilities, and all the other amenities. The staff is wonderful as well. It was only about 2 1/2 hours from St Charles County and well worth the drive. Will definitely be back
