Last minute booking made here and we were not disappointed. |It’s peaceful, clean and our room was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very large and so comfortable, and we slept extremely well. No coffee maker in the room but coffee and water was available in the breakfast area. |Small patio outside was good for an end of evening glass of wine. |Breakfast was adequate for our needs.|Easy to find and parking was no issue. Ideal for onward travel as close to main routes. |The young man on reception was excellent and all the other staff we met were helpful. |Relaxing stay in the middle of a very busy trip.
Positive: Location Negative: When I stayed here a few years ago, the owners were local folks, there was a shelf of books to read and a nice outdoor patio for coffee and pastries. New owners, not particularly friendly, patio in poor condition and piles of construction material
Rooms are clean and cozy. Parts of the building are under construction. Price is pretty cheap right now (February).
We had stayed at the Casco Bay Inn several times through the years prior to COVID, and didn't even look at recent reviews before booking another getaway to coastal Maine - which was a mistake. If you've stayed here before, it's clearly changed ownership and is not the same place! Most of the reviews here are from the days when this was a cute, well-maintained, affordable in on Rt-1 under prior ownership. Please clearly read the recent reviews before making your decision to stay here!|||THE GOOD:|The room was clean, the bed was very clean and well made - good enough for ignoring the rest and sleeping after a long day.||The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with our room and when our key-card stopped working.||The rate was affordable.||||THE BAD:|There was a smell in the room w
The hotel is run down. Stains on carpet, old banged up furniture, mismatched towels with holes, walls that need paint, and it smelled weird. Not sure how this place has 4.3 stars. Had my wife been with me she would have said we’re leaving.
