Casa Agave Miami

We selected this hotel as a last-minute option due to travel delays caused by a winter storm. The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, and the rooms were clean and matched the images provided. Although the showers were small, they were sufficient for a quick shower before heading to the airport. We did have a significant concern upon arrival. After arriving we noticed that one of the rooms had an unlocked back door which we were able to lock. All of the windows were unlocked and one of them could not be secured, which worried us about unauthorized access to the room. The booking process was straightforward, and the staff were responsive to messages through the portal. We booked two rooms, each with a booking confirmation code, but I initially received only one room access code

Review:I arrived at 7:00 AM and found no staff, no reception, and no check-in instructions. My wife and I had to wait outside until another guest happened to come out and let us in. Inside, I met someone who I thought was staff, but he was just another guest. He tried to help me contact the hotel, but no one — not even other guests — could reach the manager.There is no real lobby, just a yard. I waited three hours outside until someone finally responded. Then I was told I couldn’t check in until 3:00 PM unless I paid $100 extra. That’s way more than most hotels charge for early check-in which is about 20$. Perfectly-suited our needs for an unexpected stay in Miami due to a long layover. The proximity to the airport is great and the price was much better than the airport hotels. Casa Agave operates more like an Airbnb than a hotel. If you're used to that, the check in process won't phase you. However, if you're expecting any kind of front desk or on-site staff, you will not find it here. The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and the bed was comfortable. The tiny bathroom is VERY tiny. I am not a large person and I was barely able to shower without a body part touching the wall or glass.
