Carter's Bight

The public landing at Carters Bight is paved with a nice wide ramp to the river. The ramp extends far enough to allow easy boat loading and offloading even when the river is at extreme low level. The Altamaha river is beautiful in the area of Carters Bight, and fishing is fantastic. There is a great diversity of river habitat above and below the landing on the river. Catfish, bream, crappie, and bass are plentiful for anglers that know how to catch them. I always enjoy this part of the river.

Really enjoyed it shaded camping spots

Easy access to river, great boat ramp, large paved parking area restrooms and public shelter with picnic tables and play grounds for small kids.There is RV parking in Getaway Campground, Mr B's Bait Store just before you get to the landing. Oh, I forgot to mention, big river to fish in great fishing with several sandbars for those that like to camp, fish, and play in the water

Lololol, this place is horrible don't mess up my favorite place to launch my boat, I'm mean the worst place to launch a boat lololol. Really though, it's a nice place and has a picnic spot and playground for kids.

A cool and relaxing ride down to the Altamaha river where you can find a boat ramp and a great place to fish. The locals are friendly, but don't abuse their hospitality. This is their home away from home and you can respect that or leave in their opinion. I defend that opinion...do unto others.
