Carmel Green Lantern Inn

We stayed for one night. The staff were super kind. The room was so cute and so cozy. They provide coffee in the mornings. The location was perfect and you can walk to all the places no problem! We loved everything about our stay!

While in Carmel-By-The-Sea for a Wedding weekend I stayed in the "Laurel" room at The Green Lantern Inn. The location was excellent as it is just a few blocks up from the ocean and a couple blocks from Ocean Avenue where all the shops and restaurants are. |LOCATION: Excellent|CLEANLINESS: Very Clean|BED: Very Comfortable|ROOM: The "Laurel" room itself is pretty big with a small table and 2 chairs. The closet is extremely small with a closet bar much lower than a typical one so that a long dress would touch the floor if hung in the closet. |BATHROOM: The bathroom in the "Laurel" room is very small; not updated but clean. Super cute inn walking distance from DT. Really quaint inn with nice staff and there are some small communal outdoor sitting areas. It's a 2-3 blocks from the main downtown area but far enough away where it's really quiet on the street. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. I don't think there's central air but the windows do open up and there are fans in the room. I wish there were screens on the windows. Parking as pretty easy when I got there and I didn't have to move my car much since everything was so close on foot. There seemed to be decent amount of street parking too because it is a few blocks from DT.

NOT a good experience. Arrived for a 4pm check-in and was told room won't be ready until 5pm come back then. No offer for a coffee or water and place to sit and relax and wait. Unhelpful staff. Strange room setup with shower down the stairs. The ceilings are low, I'm only 5' 10" and kept baging my head on the ceiling. Bed was lumpy!

This was a nice stay. We were here for two nights. Cute area, decent room. There's is coffee, tea, and chocolate in the office where you can sit in the lounge and read the paper. It's walkable to a lot of restaurants.
