Carmel Bay View Inn

If you're looking for a nice, comfortable local experience, then you should be pleased. Price is very affordable, our room was clean, bedding is updated and comfy. Shower was hot immediately and great water flow. The walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors talking (although you couldn't really tell what they were saying) and you can hear doors closing and the shower water plumbing sound. Breakfast was included and it was basic but just fine. Service staff was very friendly and the location is fabulous! There's a deli and market just around the corner and across the street from restaurants, Vesuvio and Grasing's. Staff at Grasing's was fantastic and so was the food and drinks. We stayed here for a little local exploration before we headed up to Sonoma and Napa for wine tastings. Pe

Really outstanding location, large, clean rooms. Counter space in bathroom, really hot water. Great view from our balcony in room 403. Nail file in little kit, plug outlets on lamps. Gas Fireplace in our room!

I brought my family to Carmel for a short trip and chose to stay here. The environment is very comfortable, the location is great, and it is very quiet. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back next time. The customer service was excellent. We had a small issue with the room at first, but the staff responded quickly and helped us resolve it in a very satisfactory way. Really appreciated their kindness and efficiency.

Carmel is a beautiful town and the hotel is in the town centre, so the location is perfect. Room was a little dated, but reasonably clean. On the night we arrived to check in, staff was super friendly and helpful. He gave us detailed instructions regarding our room and parking, also local restaurants recommendations. His service was a 5 star! On the morning of departure, we vacated the room and checked out at 9am. We went for a stroll in the town, and returned after an hour. When we returned at 10am I asked the staff (not the friendly staff helped us check in) if I can use a restroom. Knowing we just checked out, the staff bluntly replied there isn’t public toilet in the hotel, so we’d better use the one in the local park. Lovely option in the heart of Carmel. Special thanks to the front desk staff who provided a fan (rooms don’t have air conditioning and no screen on sliding glass door). Breakfast was good with plenty of options for all appetites (don’t leave food unattended on outdoor tables or the seagulls will eat it!). Grounds are well decorated with colorful flowers and plants. There’s a heated pool and plenty of on site parking.
