Cardwell Campground + Glassy Junction Bar, Grill, & Casino

This is a little out of the way campground but it is a really nice place for a peaceful retreat for a couple of days. I think Cardwell has about 75 residents, to give you an idea of how small the town is. We had what we needed and there are great walking paths for the humans and dogs alike. We had no trouble adding a day due to high winds and rain in the area that we didn't want to drive through. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

This is an excellent little campground just off I90. The campground is beautiful even in the off season. There are wood bench swings throughout the grassy park between sites, an excellent trail around the park, impeccably maintained bathrooms and showers, free laundry, a general store, a super welcoming little bar/casino and a food truck most evenings with delicious options. We only stayed one night but it was memorable and so much more than we expected from a private campground in a small town in Montana. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area, everyone was friendly and we had so much fun we were sad we had to keep moving down the road. Will definitely be stopping by again if the opportunity arises.

Made a reservation for an overnight. No campground map on the web site. Ok no problem. Assigned us site 34. Not a good site at all. Figured just staying the night. It was late and saw many other sites empty. Our site didn’t have a picnic table while all other sites did and the grass was overgrown with a stump . We were also close to the road. Hwy 90 very loud. I asked if we could change our site. The man at the desk was very unprofessional. Complaining about the computer slamming the mouse. After 15 minutes of excuses and the other sites being down for environmental maintenance as he said he couldn’t move us. Went back to the site to setup. Only to find our site had a water spigot but no water. I ran the water hose to another site so I wouldn’t have to deal with the BS. Next morning the tw

We stayed here in October. The campground (CG) was easy to access right off I-90. We pulled off to the side of the General Store next to the RV park for check-in, which was quick and easy. We had originally selected pull-through Site 18 online, but a large boulder beside the pad made it impossible to fit our 40' toy hauler and F-450. As promised during check-in, there were backup options available, and Greg came out to assist us and reassigned us to pull-through Site 1 with water and electric (50/30/20 AMP). This site did not have sewer, but that wasn’t an issue for our two-day stay. Utilities were positioned close enough to the middle of the pad to make water and electric hookups simple. Yes we could here the cars but that didn't bother us at all. It was a beautiful camp spot. Kid and pet friendly. We only needed it for one day since we were only passing through but the bathroom and showers were available, warm, and clean.
