Captain's Lookout - Short Term Vacation Rental

Travelled up to hunt, stayed 4 nights at Captain's Lookout and absolutely loved it. House was clean, huge bunk room, and the large hangout room in the garage was perfect for warming up and hanging out. Hot tub was a bonus, and watching the freighter's come by on the channel ended up being way cooler than we imagined. Even though the hunting was slow, we had a great trip. Hosts are very helpful with recommendations on the island, and made it very easy checking in and out. The driveway is a little tight backing up if you have a boat trailer, but there's plenty of room for unhooking, parking extra cars, etc.

South Channel B&B on Harsen's Island Mi. is all we expected and more. It is a great place to view the big ships going by or to just sit back and relax. You have the added advantage of being able to fish from shore in either the main channel or the back channel. A short drive gets you around the island to see the marshy flats and Muscamoot Bay and all sorts of wild life. There are a couple eating establishments on the island and a couple markets.The best thing about South Channel is of course Margie the wonderful hostess who takes care of all your needs. The home is very comfortable breakfasts were great and the view from the balcony room fantastic. We would really like to make a return visit here sometime,

A very nicely-appointment bed and breakfast with a unique up-close view of the waterway. It's fascinating to watch the freighters float by, right outside your window. Margie was a perfect host, too. For the past ten years, Harsens Island has been a favorite day trip for us. Now we know we can relax and stay overnight at the South Channel B&B. The Balcony Room is well worth the additional dollars so that you can enjoy the view of the channel and the freighters.

Beautiful B&B overlooking the south channel of the St Clair River. We were able to see several Great Lakes freighters. Our host Margie Beas awesome. We were served a beautiful breakfast both days of our stay. I highly recommend this B&B.

I cannot say enough good about this place. I loved every minute of it. Margie is so genuinely sweet and an amazing cook! The room is beyond beautiful, the pics don’t do justice! The ships really are spectacular. I’m not even one to care for ships at all lol but you are in awe seeing them cruise by. We will absolutely go back! Not only for the beautiful house and view but just to go see them again! I felt sad to say goodbye after just spending 1 weekend with them!
