Candlewood Suites Winchester by IHG

This hotel appeared clean and definitely was spacious. However, when we made reservations, we asked for an ADA compliant room with 2 double beds. When we checked in, the ADA "compliant" room had a step in tub/shower combo, not a walk-in shower. This is really upsetting, because when we made the reservation, we were very explicit with what we needed. We wished that if they didn't have what we needed, we could look elsewhere. They told us that they had what we needed, so we made the reservation. This is a big deal and so disappointing that they just wanted to get our business regardless of our needs. We also had a mouse in our trash can, which made my dog bark. I reprimanded my dog unnecessarily. Then my husband told me about the mouse. Ice had to be obtained through the front desk.

I booked this for my boyfriend and I for Valentines week we stayed for 3 nights and gotta say I am impressed this is a 2 star hotel for $135 a night! Everything was comfy, quiet, enough space (bathroom was big) and we felt like we had privacy. The knives they give for the kitchenette gotta say is lackluster so bring your own chef knife if you plan on cooking/chopping stuff up for food! The stovetop worked great just takes awhile for it to heat up to max to cook meats but it did the job. The shower is amazing and the mirror in the bathroom is very nice and big very easy to get ready in the morning (make-up, brush teeth, doing hair and they give a hairdryer as well) The tv's are flatscreens and are capable of connecting your phones, laptops, switch/consoles up too them if you bring them for

We stayed at this Candlewood Suites for two days following a harrowing drive from Syracuse, NY (on our way south) with our dog (a yellow labrador). We received a warm greeting upon arriving around 5pm and were given a first floor room off the lobby which was convenient for taking our dog out and surprisingly quiet. The entire suite was immaculate. I complimented the housekeeping staff on my out on the wonderful job they did. You couldn’t even tell it was a pet friendly room (and no unpleasant scents to cover up odors). The only criticism we had was for the cupboard contents which were very limited. Potential fraud situation. Do NOT stay at this hotel. If I could put less stars I would, but the room was spacious. That’s about the only positive. We experienced a house fire and lost everything we own. We booked a 2 week stay at this location for 10/15-10/31 for a total of $1,636. The morning of the 15th- I was charged $785. I didn’t think much of this, and figured it was a larger preauthorization charge, for a longer/more expensive stay. However, on the 15th, I was also charged $785 a second and third time. I brought this to the front desk staff, who told me they could see all three transactions.
