Candlewood Suites Corpus Christi-Spid, an IHG Hotel

As a Platinum Elite member, this was a complete failure of both IHG brand standards and loyalty recognition. I was flatly denied early check-in without the staff even checking availability. My status was never acknowledged, and the mandatory welcome amenity was never offered. The room itself was a major disappointment and a safety concern: Safety: No guest room phone was provided to contact the front desk or emergency services. Hygiene: The bathroom was missing a hand soap bottle and a trash bin. Only one full and one partial roll of toilet paper were provided for the entire stay. Privacy: No 'Do Not Disturb' sign was available for the door. Placement & Noise: My 'High Floor' request was ignored. I guess it's true what they say, you get what you pay for. For as much of a value as my stay was on short notice at this hotel, the experience left much to be desired. The elevator was not working - and I was informed that my room would be on the third floor. No thank you. Second, when I entered my room, the remote was nowhere to be found. I had to go back to the front desk to get a new remote. The laminate flooring was sticky and there was small trash on the floor. I'm not sure WHEN the last time the room was really cleaned. Also, the provided shampoo and body wash dispensers were nearly empty - and hadn't been refilled. Finally, the shower's water pressure was very poor - and I was on the FIRST floor. Now the good news. No doubt, it was an affordable price to stay at this hotel

A marginal $10.00 or rent by the hour room. Requested a king bed they didn’t have one it’s a good thing because the closet they had the gall to charge $150. For didn’t have room for a king bed. The room was filthy, mold every where. The sink in the bathroom wouldn’t drain. The desk was broken, no night stand on my side of the bed. The attitude of the staff reflected the condition of the motel. They had no breakfast which was probably just as well, Did I mention mold? It was prevalent! Did I mention Sink wouldn’t drain it was pretty ripe. Complained but nothing done. Needless to say Candlewood is permanently removed for my motel search.

Don't stay at THIS HOTEL.. Horrible experience. Double charged me for room and deposit. Don't accept tap to pay so I used an alternative debit card with they charged the deposit and room to and also the additional unauthorized deposit and room too. Upon me requesting my refund, there is KNOW A PROBLEM with that particular card that they DID charge and refund my deposit, but the the unauthorized charges they can't refund at this time. That was January 2, 2026 and it's not January 22, 2026. Won't return my phone calls and the manager is ALWAYS out and will call back. I even call corporate and they eventually just referred me back to CANDLEWOOD SUITES manager you is very incompetent and complacent. Do not recommend staying at this establishment. NOT AT ALL

All the ladies were wonderful and the maintenance man as well ! The room was clean and nice air conditioning the rooms are new and the appliances as well miss Lisa is a wonderful manager and if we needed anything they would always accommodate us (thank you Veronica!), I had a great stay with my family
