Candlewood Suites Colonial Heights-Ft Lee by IHG

Stayed for a week and absolutely would stay again. Everyone from the front desk, the cleaning crew, the maintenance men, and the owner were friendly and accommodating. They had the BEST pantry selection I’d ever seen. My puppy had plenty of space to exercise. The 7/11 in front was icing on the cake. If you’re looking for luxury go find luxury. If you’re looking for clean, comfortable and safe. This is your place. Warning! Trains run directly behind the building. But I LOVE it. I’ve lived within a mile of tracks my entire life so the sounds help me sleep, so you can only imagine the deep sleep I got from hearing it run 😂

The location is convenient because it's close to i-95. The only drawback is there's a train that runs every couple of hours. I really liked the kitchen it's fully stocked with utensils and cookware. The bathroom was okay it was not stocked with toilet paper or tissues. Also toilet height is really short! When the write up for the hotel room read, Grill, figured there was a nice little shop to get sandwiches but no it's an actual grill outside for you to cook your own food haha!

This is by far the nastiest Candlewood I've ever stayed in! The walls, floors and stairwells are filthy! Our garbage disposal ran constantly until we found the breaker to shut it off. The icemaker did not work. Both were reported but nothing was fixed. The dishwasher is the wrong size for the opening. There is trash thrown all over the grounds and parking lot as well as the ground is covered in cigarette butts. |Trains run directly behind the hotel about every 30 minutes...all day and night.

Rooms were clean. Toilet handle was broken and elevators was down at the time. My main issue is that I stayed there 2 nights and the second morning I asked for wash cloths at the front desk after walking downstairs. The guy at the front desk said I had to bring the old ones down. Keep in mind the elevators is broken. I was not going back upstairs to get dirty rags. Did not make since. 2 nights I deserve cleans cloths.

Our first visit to Virginia and 2cnd stay with IHG. This has been an amazing stay as well as the first night in a different hotel owned by IHG. The staff here has been wonderful from the young lady Dannyella, who I first spoke with at the location and was happy to meet. To the sweet young lady they call Sunshine. Which that name fits her for sure. Our room was clean and the housekeeping just as amazing. So sorry didn't get their names. Fully equipped with an entire weeks worth of needs. Replaced as requested at any time. Until Chase. He was the only one that we feel needs customer service training. Not as friendly nor as attentive. I am a Customer Service Manager for a finance company. The stay we had other then that was astounding. Chase could be much friendlier and less disgruntle. My
