We just spent a few nights in Bubbe’s Barn at Camp Chet and honestly, it was one of the most wonderful getaways we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel so welcomed and at home. Their warmth and hospitality truly set the tone for the whole stay (you can tell they love what they do and genuinely care about their guests). The barn itself was so cozy, with thoughtful touches everywhere that made our stay comfortable and relaxing. The hiking trails on the property are absolutely beautiful with winding paths on perfectly designed trails, and beautiful spots for taking a moment to enjoy everything around you. We’ve stayed in the cozy well insulated cabins at Camp Chet many times, cooking over the fire, hiking miles of trails and enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery. Super comfortable beds! We love it! We usually go as a couple, but have been here twice before in small groups for writing retreats where we used multiple cabins. The Fry pavilion with picnic tables and swinging chairs is a great place to picnic on a hot day or have a group get together. Not too far from the cabin called The Kolts is a rock passage on one of the trails that is my favorite rock feature. It feels like air conditioning when you pass through it. I've been fortunate to visit nearly every National Park in the continental USA, along with hundreds of State Parks and countless campgrounds. From this perspective, Camp Chet stands out as one of my favorite experiences. If you enjoy mountainous hiking with natural springs, creeks featuring waterfalls, well-marked trails, and off-trail options, it's a must-visit. The host is incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and dedicated, consistently improving the trails and overall upkeep. At Camp Chet, Mother Nature's presence is truly remarkable.

Camp Chet is a one of a kind amazing place to visit. Between the wonderful scenery, amenities and not to mention the hospitable attention of Ruth and Robert! Our favorite area to stay at the Camp is primitive hand built cabins, specifically the Pepoon, the Colt and the Clark. After our first visit here we fell in love and have continued to visit throughout the seasons. There are amazing trails the hosts have created themselves that give sight to awesome views. If you ever make a trip to the Chattanooga area, make it a point to make your way to Camp Chet on Whitwell Mountain!!

Fabulous place to get away and enjoy what these folks have opened up to share. RV sites are like no other with lots of space and privacy. The trails are great and we had fun not only looking at what nature has provided but also the wood carvings and markers spread throughout. We considered ourselves very lucky to find Camp Chet and highly recommend these folks for a getaway or group/family get together location. They are centrally located to hit a lot of state park locations surrounding the area but hidden away for the most peaceful part of the eastern US. For us, we will be making this a regular place for us to get away.
