Camp Blue Canoe

Drove up from Chicago, bought a 2 day pass to Ski Swill Valley and decided to rent the Stargazer Cottage for the V-Day weekend. It was nice and clean very cool appliances, it did not disappoint. The area must look really nice in the Summer, might come back then! A+

We rented the entire campground for my daughter's wedding at Gable Hill, which was only 10 minutes away. It was perfect for our group of about 45 people. It was so nice for everyone to be able to gather and spend quality time together, something that would not have been possible had we opted for a hotel. It also saved money compared to staying at a hotel. The cottages were all very clean, and management was super responsive for the couple of questions we had. We were pleasantly surprised at the charm of the cottages- the pictures don't do them justice. You can tell the owners have put a lot of care and thoughtfulness into making them modern and updated. I'm sorry to post so publicly but I didn't see anywhere else to leave a review and I think it's important that interested customers know what to expect because the pictures on the website are deceiving. I was really looking forward to staying here. The website made me excited to stay in such a charming place with a beautiful view. However, we were very disappointed. We understood going in that this was a "no frills" place but we still expected a little more than what was actually there- especially for $200 a night (with the fees). The website made the cottages (Cannonball anyway) look cleaner and more updated. Right away the outside appearance was a little rough. Also, I thought we had somewhat of a water view based on the website pictures but the lake was blocked by thick trees. The view

This was our family's third year holding our family reunion at Camp Blue Canoe and we love it! As we have a large family reserve the whole place. The cottages are welcoming and have a true rustic charm. It's so beautiful waking up to the peaceful lake and beautiful surroundings. Our family loves using the large lodge area most of all. The place had holes on the front porch and the floor. The place also had holes in the bathroom door and bedroom door. There was so much duck poop all over outside that you couldn't even walk without getting it on your shoes. The dresser was add screws sticking out of the leg from where it had been Jimmy rigged together . The TV was broke the host at come and put a brand new TV in. It was a nightmare just can't believe they even charged me to stay there. Play it's going to be really cool if it's spend some time working on it. And as far as the beach it was like a cat litter box for ducks. I don't think any of this would have been fixed if it wasn't for me calling and complaining.
