Camp Almanor at Big Springs

Super cute and clean cabin that looked brand new! We arrived late - after 8 pm - and they had the cabin ready for us, heat was on so it was nice and warm for us. Cabin had everything we needed and lots of extras ( popcorn, microwave, small kitchen). Bed was sooooo comfy too! Highly recommend, plus very close to the lake.

I am usually staying in chain hotels such as Best Western because the quality of hotels is somewhat expected (except a few cases). Instead of staying in a hotel in nearby town, Chester, I decided to stay in a cabin and it turned out one of the best things I did for my family's trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park!||We stayed for two nights at Cabin #13 (a studio with one queen bed and one bunker beds for 4 people).||Pros:|1. Patty, the cabin host is awesome! When we arrived, we were greeted by her and the experience was 100 times better than typical check-in process at chain hotels.|2. Our Summer at Camp Almanor at Big Springs was amazing all the way around! From The owners Peter & Kate and the Wonderful Camp Host Patti and Husband Tom who became fast friends and made our summer even move fun! They have campers who have camped there for years and we fell right in like we have known each other for years hanging out around the campfire in the evening telling stories and enjoying each other’s company. We are looking forward to season 2026! ❤️🏕️

Our cabin had everything for cooking and more! The ground coffee tin was full, spices in the cupboard and a great collection of utensils. The campground host was super responsive when we needed ice, recommendations on local places and help with a small neighbor issue.

Hosts were so kind to my family visiting. They allowed us to decorate cabin for daughter’s birthday. Camp is so peaceful with a common area for all to play. Stars were amazing at night. The perfect get away for our family. Backs up to the woods and lake is across the street. Beautiful views of the lake from certain spots.
