This was a very nice place for us to stop on our way cross country. We have a self contained motorhome so we didn’t need anything other than electric. They did have 50amp for us which was a bonus. Beautiful platte ricer flows at one end with some benches to sit on. No water hookup so make sure you have water.
After coming from a clean, pretty and inexpensive campground in Iowa, I was disappointed in this place. There were only pit toilets and the tent camping area was kind of rough, though it was next to the river. I was kept awake all night by the loud sounds of train cars crashing into each other at the nearby railyard and by cars driving through the campground late at night. The $15 surcharge for out of state campers on top of the camping fee made me feel that Nebraska doesn't welcome or appreciate people from other states. However, the sunrise over the river was beautiful and the actual ranch area was nice.
What a fantastic hidden gem. It has all of the outdoor fun anyone could ask for. People tend to pick up after themselves to preserve the natural beauty of this place and the sounds are amazing, cranes, turkeys, woodpeckers, red winged blackbirds, and owls can be heard here.
This park is a nice clean park, BUT there are 2 campers in there with people living in them ongoing. Rough campers. Cardboard & foil for windows, etc. When we got there, there was no one else there but those 2 rough campers and one more family, whom told us to be careful, that the law enforcement had been there earlier in day at the “drug” camper and that a girl had ran into woods and they never did find her. So that made us a bit nervous. A guy came out of one of the rough campers and he spray painted the car wheels neon yellow on site. We did stay the night but only because we arm ourselves traveling. We had 4 ways to protect ourselves just in case they wanted to pay us a visit. Will not stay here again. The park service needs to remove these non paying dopers out of this beautifu
Quiet. Great for bird watching. Right on river. Trails available. Bit pricey with extra fees for non Nebraska pass holders.
