Buckhorne Country Store and Campground

Super friendly operators and a great stop for hand scooped ice cream. At least a dozen flavors and even sugar/dairy free choices. Take cards or cash (and round their prices for even amounts). Have rotating summer and winter hours but are not limiting.

Loved this little place. Not very large and nor too small. We had a full hookup site. |The staff is friendly and accommodating. They even have 2 of the most precious, loving kitties that I've ever seen hanging around. I wanted them both. |We were in site 9. We have a 35 footer and it was a bit tight but we got it in there and other slides came out with no problem. |The only thing I can think of to fuss about was our fire ring was behind the camper, not on the front side but we made due and meet a nice person so we were happy. |Try it, you are a rock throw from Douthat State Park and it's absolutely amazing this time of year.

I live just across the street. I get food and supplies frequently. The place is always clean and the staff are really nice. The owner Ray Allen is an honest and caring man that has been a good friend to me for many years.

Arrived on Memorial Day 2024 and stayed til beginning of August 2024. We travel all over the US in our 40’ TT with our 3 fur babies. I highly recommend Buckhorne Campground whether it’s for a short vacation stay or just passing through and need a safe and quiet place for a night. They do have monthly rates for those who travel for work and need more than a couple of weeks at a time. The staff is super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, especially Heidi!! The best ice cream in the area too! They have a super cute country store with a small kitchen area to order hot pizza and wings and a hair salon on the side of the store, Amber’s Salon services are amazing and she’s great at what she does! Very lovely people. Friendly and will do what it takes to make your visit enjoyable. They didn't have the spicy wings so the owner brought several different hot sauces from their home to sample. That's special! Unique atmosphere with many different flavors of ice cream and sherbet to top off your visit or just come for a taste. Loved it.
