Customer Reviews
Good and clean campground. 1/4 mile from the parking lot, not steep. You even can take a cart to carry you bags. No bbq grills and bear boxes. Common fire-ring, bring your woods and a grille/skewer. Campsites close to each other. 2 simple no-flush toilets but a clean and fancy toilet in the visitor center (worked at 8:30pm).
Hike in campground. Each site has a picnic table and a small, usually gravel, area for a tent. Sites 9-13 are together in an open area around one of the shared fire rings. These sites would be good for camping with other groups. The other sites are more private. There are two shared fire rings. The one near sites 9-13 is near a water source. There are two restrooms with pit toilets. They were both reasonably clean. One was less odorous than the other. There are two water spigots that appear to have potable water. One cart was available at the trailhead. Signs say to return the cart immediately. The route in is a gravel road that gets steep as you approach the camp. The host at the Welcome Center said the camp rarely fills up. On a summer Thursday we saw only one campsite occupied. Several
I stayed at the Brooke Creek hike-in spot with my dog. It was nice, clean, and mostly quiet. I kind of wish each site had a firepit instead of the communal pits. Also, they should describe the hike in to the campsite better. It is a gravel road with somewhat steep inclines and declines for about .25 miles that left me exhausted pulling my cart of gear in. If you don't take a cart, it's an easy hike. Lugging the cart up the incline leading in to camp was brutal and I saw a few other campers struggling as well!
The beat place at LL Stubb Stewart park. It’s Hike in only, and there are only two fire pits for the whole Brook Creek area to share so get cozy with your neighbors. Thank you BSA 855 for making the fire pits.
