Bridgewater Inn and Cottage LLC

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Bridgewater Inn & Cottage. We stayed in the two bedroom suite. It came with spacious living/dining room area, kitchen complete with all dishes, utensils, stove and refrigerator. Beds were comfortable, atmosphere relaxing. The proprietor, Mary, was helpful and courteous. The décor of antique furniture, wooden floors, paintings, books… it made me feel like I was visiting my grandparents. And then there was breakfast…I had a delicious vegetarian omelet while my carnivorous husband had biscuits & sausage gravy with a side of bacon. He said the sausage gravy was as good as he’d ever had… and he’s picky about his food. I highly recommend this B&B!

A lovely, small, quaint B&B. Bed and linens were frilly and lovely. We really enjoyed our 1 bedroom room. Had a small but full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. It was actually a 2 bedroom but we just didn't use the second bedroom and she only charged for a 1 bedroom rate. Lovely antiques, etc. The breakfast that the Inn Keeper makes just for your room and brings up on a large tray is a 10+. Delicious!!!

My mom, sister, and I had a lovely time staying here. We had everything we needed, and Mary was a great communicator. She was also a very good cook. The French toast and gravy biscuits made my stomach very happy, haha. The house was charming and made me feel like I’d stepped back in time. My only suggestion would be that the hot tub is filled a little higher/maintained more closely. Everything else was perfect.

First of all, the positives! This is a cute house, with great privacy, and the suite works for a couple or even a family (two rooms!). There's a great little kitchenette, too, with a fridge and oven. The owner is absolutely kind and helpful, and breakfast was HUGE and delicious. The barn would be a great place to hang out with a crowd. We enjoyed the tandem bike, because why not give it a try? The massage was rescheduled to fit our schedule better without a problem, and we really appreciated that. The jacuzzi was a hit with the husband, and easy to get at, and clean. There are movies, books, some games and all kinds of random things you might want in cabinets, drawers, and closets if you care to look.||||Downsides? From least to greatest. We love it here! I've stayed in the cottage room and the 2 bedroom suite and both spaces are incredible! The breakfasts areally delicious. The grounds are beautiful. The owners allowed us to throw a family dinner in the barn, the last time I saw my grandmother alive. This place is very special and a true homage to Virginia countryside.
