Briar Barn Inn

Hands down, this is our most comfortable place to stay. We travel and visit B&Bs within the Select Registry a few times every year. We have stayed at the Briar Barn Inn in every season and have always found the rooms to be very clean, decorated with interesting and unique pieces of art, comfortable with individual fireplaces and sitting chairs, with a desk if work needs to be done. I particularly like the many windows which let in lots of natural light, but maintain privacy at the same time, with many of the rooms facing scenic woods. The Inn is in a quiet location yet offers a fantastic restaurant, pool and spa on site. We find the location very handy for visiting nearby Newburyport, Plum Island, and the beaches. I booked a 2 night stay for my wife and I to celebrate my birthday. We loved everything about the Briar Barn Inn! The room was very clean and spacious. The staff was very kind and was helpful in making recommendations of things to do in the area. The dinner we had at the Grove was top notch! We will definitely book this beautiful Inn again.

We had our wedding at The Grove a few weeks ago in Oct 2025 and it was the most perfect wedding we could have ever dreamed of! When touring venues they were very accommodating with finding a time, and answered all of our questions quickly! They give you a planning portal where you upload your guest list, food choices, floor plan, etc, which was so nice having it in one place, although the website is a little outdated and sometimes annoying. We had Alyssa as our day of coordinator and she is truly a gem. We had a lot of anxiety leading up to the wedding and she was SO kind and eased everything. The day of the wedding ran so smoothly, and my husband and I did not need to lift a finger or think about a single thing! Overall we would definitely stay at this inn again. The library and silo are very unique and make for fun places to hang out. The artwork in the hallways are great to look at too. The restaurant was closed during our stay due to a wedding that was being held there so we didn’t get to experience that. The room we stayed in was okay. The bedroom and bathroom area was very clean and the fireplace was excellent! I did have to tell the front desk about a broken towel holder. It didn’t bother us at all as we’re used to fixing things like that in our own home. The shower itself had some type of brown splatter on the walls that didn’t wash off. I’ve stayed at this hotel in the past when it was newer and had a genuinely pleasant experience, so I was disappointed by how different things felt this time.||Overall, the hotel was just okay. I came on a solo trip specifically to reset, unwind, and enjoy some quiet time while exploring the area. Upon arrival, no one greeted me or offered any information— including the fact that breakfast pastries were available in the morning, which I only learned about later. I also had multiple bags and wasn’t aware that luggage carts were available, so I would advise others to ask for one in advance.||When I inquired about the on-site restaurant, I was told it was closed due to a wedding. Fortunately, Three Sweet Peas Bakery is only a minute away and has excellent coffee, so I highly recommend stoppin
